Hortonville’s Kardyn Peppler (Class of 2027) has officially committed to play for UW-Green Bay under head coach Kayla Karius. For the 5’7 guard, the commitment represents the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and development on and off the court.
“Feels great to be committed,” Kardyn said. “It feels like a lot of pressure lifted off my shoulders. Now I’m just excited for what’s next!”
Nic Levy, Director of Team PRIME Nation, praised her focus and maturity: “Kardyn has approached every step of her journey thoughtfully. She’s talented, hardworking, and smart about her decisions. She has the confidence and unselfish leadership that makes teammates better, and that’s what separates good players from great ones.”

Finding the Perfect Fit
Kardyn credits the program’s coaching staff, style of play, and fan base for making UWGB the perfect fit.
“I love their style of play and the way the program is coached,” she said. “They also have a really great fan base and that’s something I really wanted to be a part of!”
She realized UWGB was the right place after her last tournament of the recruiting season, when she began talking about her decision more seriously with her parents. To officially commit, she FaceTimed the coaching staff. “They said they were very excited!” she said.
Levy added, “Kardyn’s maturity and confidence in her choice shows how well-prepared she is. She’s found a program that suits her growth as both a player and a person. She has the ability to lead by example while remaining selfless — the kind of player who makes a program stronger not just with her scoring, but with her presence and attitude.”
Navigating the Path
The support of family and coaches played a crucial role in Kardyn’s recruiting journey. “My parents and my older sisters, my coaches, and teammates influenced me a lot,” she said.
The process was not without stress. “It honestly stressed me out a lot, but I reminded myself that I was lucky to go through this because not everyone has this opportunity,” Kardyn said. Her advice to younger players mirrors her own mindset: “Keep working hard and don’t worry about others’ recruiting processes because everyone’s is different.”
On-Court Achievements
Kardyn has been a standout performer at Hortonville, with sophomore year stats including:
14.9 points per game
4.6 rebounds per game
2.6 assists and 2.6 steals per game
Team record: 17–9
Blueprint for Success
Kardyn credits Team PRIME Nation for preparing her not just for the physical aspects of college basketball, but also the strategic and relational elements that are essential for success at the next level.
“It has helped me because it has taught me what it takes to play at the college level, and the coaches have a lot of knowledge on the recruiting process, so they really helped me prepare for this moment,” she said.
Team PRIME emphasizes helping players find the right college fit, including building strong relationships and trust with college coaches. This ensures that both the player and the program are aligned in goals, values, and playing style. Levy explained: “We focus on guiding players to programs where they can thrive academically, athletically, and personally. Kardyn understood the importance of building trust with coaches and finding a program that matched her goals. That preparation gave her confidence in her decision.”
The PRIME Nation Culture
One of Kardyn’s favorite aspects of PRIME has been the relationships and camaraderie built with her teammates. From team dinners at tournaments to friendly spike ball competitions, these shared experiences go beyond basketball and reflect the family-like bonds the program fosters.
Asked to describe PRIME culture in one word, Kardyn chose “Dedication.” That dedication isn’t just about showing up on the court—it’s about pushing yourself and your teammates to be better every day. Whether it’s during high-intensity practices, travel tournaments, or off-court bonding, the culture emphasizes commitment, accountability, and growth.
Nic Levy added, “Kardyn embodies that dedication. She works hard every day, challenges herself and her teammates, and takes the process seriously both on and off the court. At PRIME, we focus on building players who are not only talented but also resilient, selfless, and capable of leading. The bonds they form here, and the lessons they take from our culture, help prepare them for success in college and beyond.”
Through this culture, athletes like Kardyn learn the importance of teamwork, trust, and leadership—qualities that translate directly to success at the next level. Team PRIME Nation isn’t just about basketball skills; it’s about developing complete players who understand how to compete, connect, and grow in every environment.
The Peppler Legacy
Kardyn will continue a unique family legacy at UWGB. She is the third Peppler to play at the school, joining sisters Kamy and Kal. While Kamy will graduate this year, Kardyn will share at least one season with Kal on the court. Living just a short drive from Green Bay, the Peppler family will be able to enjoy watching all three daughters make an impact at the college level.
Eyes on the Future
At UWGB, Kardyn is most excited about being challenged and growing as a player under a coach who emphasizes winning, development, and teamwork.
“I’m most excited to be challenged and play for a coach that loves to win and helps her players be the best they can be,” she said.
Off the court, she looks forward to hanging out with roommates and making new friends, while continuing to make memories on the court. For her PRIME teammates still chasing college dreams, Kardyn leaves this advice: “Don’t stress about it too much and never get down on yourself if you’re not where you want to be yet.”
A Leader Ready to Shine
With her commitment to UW-Green Bay, Kardyn Peppler continues the Peppler family legacy at the Division I level while exemplifying PRIME Nation values: dedication, unselfish leadership, and the drive to grow every day. Her skill, confidence, and character make her a player to watch in the years ahead.
